Independent Mathematics Research

Mathematical questions. A careful, documented process.

My current independent mathematics work explores statistical multiple testing: evaluating many related signals while limiting false discoveries.

The research is organized around eight candidate claims under investigation. These are research candidates, not eight established results.

Research in progress. This overview describes the broad field and working method. The exact problem, candidate statements, technical details, and results remain private while the investigation continues.

How the work is approached

01 · Explore and question

Make assumptions explicit

Break the work into candidate claims, identify dependencies, and examine the assumptions each line of reasoning would require. Track uncertainty rather than treating a promising direction as a conclusion.

02 · Examine and document

Use an AI-assisted research workflow

Use AI assistance to organize exploration and examine possible arguments, alongside careful documentation and further mathematical review. Generated reasoning is a starting point for scrutiny, not evidence that a claim is correct.

03 · Check and refine

Investigate formal verification

Formal proof checking is part of the working method. It helps make logical requirements explicit; this page does not claim that the overall research problem has been solved or that every candidate has been proved.

What this work demonstrates

A sustained approach to unfamiliar technical questions: organizing a complex investigation, keeping records, testing reasoning, distinguishing open questions from established conclusions, and revising the next step as the evidence changes.
